It's Daylight Savings Time, Charlie Brown
"It's Daylight Savings Time, Charlie Brown" SAT 8/7C
It's Daylight Savings Time again and Charlie Brown fails to set back his clock an hour, causing an imbalance in the space-time continuum. The entire Peanuts gang are violently sucked through a time vortex and travel back to 1895 where they meet Daylight Savings Time innovator George Vernon Hudson. So, set your clocks forward for fun and tune in this Saturday at 8/7 PM Central.

Introducing Broofus
Weirdness from the Pasteboard
Recently, I was working on some new graphics for my art blog and decided to create a graphic that would promote my Roofus comic.
Along the way, this happened.
I decided...too weird and I tossed it aside to the pasteboard area of my Illustrator document.
I thought it would be fun to share the weirdness on Weirdo Wednesday. It's all part of the creative process, people.

1st Annual Roofie Awards
Recapping Roofus
Here is the recent Roofus Roofie Award show storyline in its entirety. I like to break the fourth wall as much as I can, and stories like this afford me that opportunity.
These types of wacky ideas are a great way to surprise the audience as well as take a break from Roofus' college life. Plus, I'm a big fan of cartoons and comics, so the award show idea allowed me to make references to some classic soap opera comics and of course, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids.

Jonny Quest
2013 marks the 5th anniversary of my art blog, and today is my 600th post. And it's a post I'm pretty proud of.
This Jonny Quest poster is another in a series of Hanna-Barbera homages that I've been doing over the past year. I think this may be my favorite one to date.
Jonny Quest was ahead of its time. Created in 1964, it was an ambitious show. At the time, it was like no other cartoon on TV. Tragically, it ran only one season due to budget constraints. It's one of my all-time favorite cartoons and possibly the best Hanna-Barbera production ever created.

FOR BETTER OR WORSE, A DR. SEUSS VERSE
On February twenty-third on a Saturday Night,
I attended the ADDY Awards, oh what a sight.
I was surrounded by my friends from Gremillion and Pou,
There were so many people, the place was a zoo.
It was a moment to shine for Gremillion and Pou,
We won 18 awards before the night was through.
I did this Dr. Seuss piece and I'm very proud to say,
It won a Silver ADDY which absolutely made my day.
It was fun to draw in the Dr. Seuss style,
It was something I hadn't tried in a while.
OK, let's wrap this up; I'm starting to feel a little queasy,
Man, Dr. Seuss sure made this rhyming stuff look easy.
